BELGIUM – Minimum Salary Increases for Type B Work Permits
The Belgian government has announced a nearly two percent increase in the minimum salary requirement for Type B work permits from 1 January 2014.
Similarly, Luxembourg increased its minimum salary requirements for non-EU nationals, effective 1 October 2013.
Belgium
The minimum annual salary for highly skilled foreign nationals applying for Type B work permits will increase to €39,422, from €38,665.
The minimum annual salary for senior management and executive-level foreign nationals applying for Type B work permits will increase to €65,771 from €64,508.
Luxembourg
Luxembourg adjusted its minimum salary requirements recently. From 1 October, non-EU nationals sponsored for new or renewal work permits in Luxembourg as locally hired employees or intra-company transferees must be paid at least €2,305.23 per month, up from €2,249.03 per month.
Background
Both governments regularly increase their minimum salary requirements for foreign nationals in line with inflation.
