DENMARK – Possible Strike Action May Affect Immigration Authorities
Danish unions and state, regional and municipal employers are locked in ongoing negotiations on employment and salary conditions, faced with the threat of strike action by public sector workers from 8 May 2018, and a retaliatory “lockout” by employers from 12 May 2018.
The immigration authorities have not been selected to participate in the strike action but would be affected by the lockout.
Action Items
- Employers with pending or planned applications with the Danish immigration authorities should prepare for the possibility of delays if unions and employers fail to reach an agreement.
