CZECH REPUBLIC – New Minimum Salary Level for Blue Card
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in the Czech Republic has announced a new minimum salary level for all new Blue Card applications in Czech Republic, to take effect from 1 May 2013.
New Minimum Salary for Blue Card
The new minimum gross annual salary requirement for Blue Card applications from 1 May 2013 is: CZK37,652 per month, CZK451,818 per year, up from CZK430,000 last year. This is equivalent to approximately /year or EUR 17429.87/year.
The increase is due to the increase in the average gross salary in the Czech Republic. To qualify for a Blue Card, an applicant must be paid at least 1.5x the annual gross average salary.
The new minimum salary requirement applies only for new blue card applications and extensions filed starting May 1st 2013.
Annual Review
Note that the minimum salary levels for Blue Card applications will be revised each year in accordance with fluctuations in the gross average annual salary in the Czech Republic.
