ARGENTINA – 24(H) Short Term Visas Granted Twice Per Year Only

Argentina has changed the regulations around the short term professional visa 24(H) category so that the issuance of such visas is limited to two visas per year, up to a maximum stay of 60 days in one calendar year only.

Two Visas in One Year

24(H) category visas are now limited to two visas per applicant in one calendar year (counted from the date of issuance of the first visa). Each visa is valid for up to 30 days so total stay on a 24(H) visa in one calendar year is now 60 days. Previously the visa could be extended twice, up to a total period of 90 days.

Action Items

  • if your company sends short term assignees to Argentina, and utilises the 24(H) category, ensure that all relevant parties are aware of this change.
