LUXEMBOURG and BELGIUM – Minimum Salary Increases for Blue Card
The Belgium and Luxembourg governments have announced an increase in the minimum salary requirements for Blue Cards, effective immediately.
Belgium
The minimum annual salary for foreign nationals participating in the EU Blue Card programme in Belgium has increased to €50,974, from €49,995. Both initial and renewal Blue Card applications will be rejected if they do not demonstrate that the salary paid to the applicant meets the new minimum requirement.
Luxembourg
Luxembourg has also adjusted its minimum salary requirements recently. Blue Card holders in Luxembourg must be paid at least €69,858 per annum, up from €60,842. Again, all initial and renewal applications must demonstrate that the salary meets this minimum requirement.
Background
Both governments regularly increase their minimum salary requirements for foreign nationals in line with inflation.
